The stats

Tour-grade analysis out of the box.

Strokes gained is how professionals measure their performance. Spread Golf brings it to you, with no hardware to buy and no round to replay in your head.

Option 1: Shot plotting

Rebuild your round on the map.

Every hole is drawn the way you see it from the tee: tee at the bottom, green at the top, on satellite imagery. Slide the map to where each shot finished, confirm the lie, and see what it was worth before you move on. Useful for course planning or retracing a round after the fact.

  • Live-updating distances to course features (bunkers, hazards, etc)
  • Lie auto-detected from the course map; confirm it with one tap
  • Plot during the round or afterwards, even with no signal
Hole 1 holed out: the approach from 107 yards in the hole, strokes gained plus 1.83 Hole 1 holed out: the approach from 107 yards in the hole, strokes gained plus 1.83
Option 2: Automatic tracking

Or just play. Spread Golf tracks the shots.

Turn on "Track Shots Automatically" when you start a round. Leave your phone in your pocket and play. Each hole's shots are inferred from your location and saved once you move on. Open the app any time to add a shot exactly where you stand.

  • Two putts added on every green, ready for you to adjust
  • Add shot marks a shot right where you're standing
  • Review each hole after the round to edit any shot that's off

This feature is in preview mode. Expect moderate manual editing effort after your round.

How strokes gained works

Every shot, valued in strokes.

A benchmark says how many strokes it takes to hole out from anywhere on the course based on your skill level.

Questions

Good to know.

Do I need a watch or club sensors?

No. Plot shots on the satellite map during the round or after it, or turn on automatic tracking and let your iPhone follow the round from your pocket. There's nothing to buy, charge or screw into a grip.

Is my course in the app?

Courses across the US are mapped from OpenStreetMap, and the ones we've checked by hand are marked verified. If yours is missing, request it in the app or plot it yourself.

What is the benchmark?

By default your shots are measured against Tour players, the standard in strokes gained. You can choose a handicap benchmark instead, an estimate built from the Tour data, so the numbers read against golfers nearer your level.

Does it work without signal?

Yes. Plotting works offline and your rounds sync when you're back online.

Who can see my rounds?

You choose who sees each round, starting from a default you set in Profile. We never sell your data or show you ads. See the Privacy Policy.

Is there an Android app?

Not yet. Spread Golf is for iPhone.

Spread Golf is coming to the App Store. Questions or want in on the beta? Write to support@spreadgolf.app.
